Luohan Academy Dissertation Fellowship Program 2024-2025
Dissertation fellows at Luohan Academy will not only gain access to a wealth of valuable data provided by leading technology companies in China such as Alibaba, but also be a part of an engaging community composed of distinguished social scientists, including seven Nobel Laureates in Economics, technology experts, policy researchers, and digital economy practitioners.
Applications are now open for the 2024-2025 Luohan Academy Dissertation Fellowship Program and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. PhD students interested in studying the digital economy, especially those majoring in economics, finance, or related interdisciplinary fields, are strongly encouraged to apply.
Applicants are required to submit a research proposal, and to maximize the synergy between research and practice, it is highly encouraged that the proposal aligns with the interests and business relevance of Alibaba Group. All applications will undergo a rigorous selection process, but only shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews. Successful applicants are expected to visit Luohan Academy in Hangzhou, China, 1-2 times during the program, with each visit having a minimum duration of 2 months.
Since its founding in 2018, Luohan Academy has attracted promising young scholars from the world’s most prestigious universities and has hosted them in residence to work at the intersection of research and practice and on issues that are closely related to the digital economy.
