With the first Luohan Academy annual review, we seek to provide an overview of this past year’s work of the Academy and the invaluable contributions of our community. Luohan Academy is an open research institute initiated by Alibaba and launched with renowned social science scholars around the world. We study the most critical issues at the intersection of social science and technology, with the aim of improving people’s lives in the digital era. The annual review will provide a chance to show how Luohan and our global community of scholars are advancing that goal.
