Current Affiliations: Philip H. Knight Professor and Dean, Emeritus, Graduate School of Business, Stanford University. Chairman, Advisory Board of Stanford Institute for Innovation in Developing Economies.

· Nobel Prize in Economics (shared with Joseph Stiglitz) for contributions to the analysis of markets with asymmetric information, 2001.
